rococo

A style of architecture, decoration and design prevalent approximately from 1730 to 1760, particularly in France. It was a lighter, freer development of the baroque, characterised by boldly curving forms and by asymmetry of design, with profuse decoration of rockwork, shells, scrolls, flowers, etc.
