O gauge

0 gauge (or 0 scale) is a scale commonly used for toy trains and model railways. It was originally introduced by the German toy manufacturer Märklin circa 1900. By the 1930s 0 gauge was the most common model railway scale in the United States and remained so until the early 1960s. In Europe its popularity declined before World War II due to the introduction of smaller scales such as OO gauge.
