Thomas Minton (1765-1836)

English potter who founded the pottery and porcelain factory of Thomas Minton & Sons in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, in 1793. Initially, the factory’s wares were mostly standard domestic tableware in blue transfer-printed or painted earthenware, including the famous willow-pattern which he did much to popularise.
