milk glassOpaque white glass somewhat resembling porcelain. First made in at Murano in the 15th century, the white colour is achieved through the addition of tin oxide. In Italy, this type of glass is called: lattimo, opalina or vetro latteo; in Germany, Milchglas or Porzellanglas, in France, blanc-de-lait. Milk glass has a considerable following of collectors.
