MagdeburgThere were three potteries in this city in Hanover. The first, founded in 1754 by Johann Philipp Guichard, initially made faience table wares with basketwork borders similar to those of Münden, but later specialised in cream-coloured earthenware in the English style. This pottery closed in 1839. A pottery founded in 1791 made stoves in the classical style. A pottery founded in 1799 by Elias Karl Rousset and Georg Schuchard, made cream-coloured earthenware. It closed in 1865. |
