Kakiemon style

Decoration on European porcelain in the style of Japanese Kakiemon porcelain, which was first imported by the Dutch in the 17th century and soon became very popular in Europe.

The Meissen factory was greatly influenced by it in the 1720s and 1730s. In England, Chelsea and Bow also used Kakiemon designs. The Chantilly factory used Kakiemon designs almost exclusively for the first two decades of its existence.
