Georges Jacob (1739-1814)

One of the most prominent Parisian master menuisiers of the latter part of the 18th century and beginning of the 19th century.

He produced carved, painted and gilded furniture and upholstery work for the French royal chateaux, in the early neoclassical style that is usually associated with Louis Seize. He retired in 1796, but returned from retirement to provide furniture for Napoleon's palaces.
