Duncan Grant (1885-1978)British painter and designer, and a member of the Bloomsbury Group. He exhibited at Roger Fry's second Post-Impressionist exhibition in 1912. When Fry founded the Omega Workshops in 1913, Grant became co-director with Vanessa Bell. After the closure of the Omega Workshops, Grant and Bell continued to collaborate on the decoration of private houses, providing a design service for their friends and working on occasional commissions. Apart from his paintings and interior design, his works include designs for pottery, stage scenery, textiles and costumes. |
