ermine

A white fur, the winter coat of the stoat in northern latitudes. It is used (often with the black tail-tip attached) for the ceremonial robes of royalty, peers of the realm, judges and magistrates.

In heraldry, a fur represented by a pattern of sable (black) spots on argent (white).
