Earthenware of fine quality, light buff in colour and covered with a transparent glaze.

It was developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1760s and named "Queensware" by him. It was subsequently produced by other potteries in Staffordshire and elsewhere, particularly in Leeds. It has enjoyed continuous popularity and is still produced today.
