Billy Waters

Billy Waters, a Negro fiddler, was a regular busker outside the Adelphi Theatre in London in the 1780s. Identifiable by his wooden leg and military-style outfit, he was a familiar London figure, immortalised by figurines produced by the Staffordshire potteries and caricatured by the cartoonist George Cruickshank.
