Vanessa Bell (1879-1961)English painter and interior designer, a member of the Bloomsbury group, and the sister of Virginia Woolf. She lived with the artist Duncan Grant at Charleston in Sussex. Together with Grant she produced designs for Roger Fry's Omega Workshops. After the closure of the Omega Workshops, Bell and Grant continued to collaborate on the decoration of private houses, providing a design service for their friends and working on occasional commissions. |
