Bauhaus

The highly influential German school of design founded in Weimar in 1919 by the architect Walter Gropius. One of the main objectives of the Bauhaus was to unify art, craft, and technology, and to design according to the needs of machine production. The school had a major influence on 20th century architecture and furniture design.
