Richard Bampi (1896-1965)

A German art-potter who began as a graphic artist and went to Brazil in the 1920s, where he practiced as a sculptor in marble and bronze. Returning to Germany in 1927, he established a ceramic workshop at Kandern in the Black Forest, where he produced pottery statuettes and cubistic vases. He later made much use of terracotta and developed several new coloured glazes.
